Counting down to ONE...

Be part of our celebration!

Kinsa Sushi is turning ONE on 25 May 2013 and we are running around making sure everything is going according to schedule for the big day. Well, you can't fault our vanity in wanting to show you our best..

We will be having our Kagami-Biraki (a traditional Japanese sake barrel breaking ceremony) at 1.40pm sharp at our restaurant entrance. Thereafter, sake will be on free flow until the end of the day - while stocks last.

Kagami-Biraki

In addition, every SGD 60++ spent in a single receipt will earn you 1 entry in our lucky draw for the day! Prizes ranging from electrical appliances to dining vouchers will be drawn at the end of the day and winners will be contacted for collection.

However, kindly make dining reservations with us as we are expecting higher traffic on that day.
There will be 3 dinner reservation slots:
- 5.00pm to 6.30pm
- 6.30pm to 8.00pm
- 8.00pm to close

We would like to take this opportunity to thank our sponsors for supporting us for this event. Your partnership is deeply appreciated.

Mark your calendar for 25 May 2013!!

Looking through the sands of time..

How time whizzed past. It is almost a year since Kinsa Sushi first laid the first drilling works in Jubilee Square. Here are some transformation pictures.

Writing this post truly allowed us to reflect back on the year.

Truth is, the walk thus far really was nothing short of an adventure. Challenges and obstacles never failed to teach us new lessons and experiences. Even up to this day, we would be lying if we said it is now a breeze.

However, what spurs us on is YOU! Your time and support gives us every reason to brave the storm and push on for higher expectations of ourselves. Every 'pat on our back' and compliment from you puts a smile on our faces and comfort us after a long day's work. Thank you for the care and concern showered upon us the past year.

It is time for us to express our gratitude. Come 25 May, we will be turning ONE! We would like to invite you to join us in our 1st Anniversary ceremony. There will be free flow Sake and a lucky draw! Hope to see you there.

Do stay tuned for more information

World’s 10 most enchanting forests

Remembering Mother Earth..

Earth Day takes place on 22 April annually. On this day dated back to 1970, events are held in more than 192 countries globally to support environmental preservation.

At Kinsa Sushi we also do our part for a greener future! We make sure our drink cans and bottles are sent for recycling. In addition, the restaurant was running on 50% electrical energy between 3pm - 5pm on 22 April 2013 to remind employees and customers on going green for our generations to come.

Found some green wonders on our planet from zee.com yesterday. Just thought that we should share it with everyone. Enjoy...

1. Crooked Forest, Poland

2. Sagano Bamboo Forest, Japan

3. Black Forest, Germany

4. Caddo Lake, United States

5. Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, China

6. Inyo National Forest, United States

7. Bialowieza Forest, Poland and Belarus

8. Daintree Rainforest, Australia

9. Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve, Costa Rica

10. Waipoua Forest, New Zealand

Let us work towards a future where our children and their children will get to appreciate the beauty that nature has in store of us.

We can all start with this simple question: What are we doing to help Mother Earth?

Japanese traditions - Celebrating 'Hanami'

Stumbled upon this term some time back and decided to find out more about it...

"Hanami" is the traditional practice of having picnics under a blooming Ume (plum) or Sakura tree. This custom was initially limited to only the elites of the imperial court but soon spread to the samurai society and the common people. Under the trees, people bonded over sake and feasted lavishly.

Since Ume and Sakura are in season approximately between April to June, we thought of creating a few simple side dishes that people may whip out when partaking Hanami.

Friday!! Renewed spirit for the weekend...

The crab feast

Time drags on certain days but not this week! Perhaps owing to a midweek casual dinner and drinks session for the entire crew of KS. The 'let-your-hair-down' session over Pepper/Chilli/Salted egg crab and seemingly non-stop whisky supply seemed to have renewed our spirits for the weekend.

Crab Feast - All Hands-In

IF you do find us a little more cheerful and hyper serving you this weekend, I assure you that the hangover has NO part to play in it. Who said that being part of a Japanese restaurant is all work and no play? Then again, I'm pretty sure the whisky helped...

See you at Kinsa Sushi!

**Apologies - We would love to share more pictures with you. But unfortunately, we were all-hands-in with the crabs and not exactly sober photographers during drinks.

The story behind Kinsa Sushi

Kinsa Sushi is the brainchild of a few ambitious young men who came together to share their love for authentic Japanese dining. They believe that authentic Japanese fine dining should not only be experienced and enjoyed by the high rollers.

As Japanese cuisine faces multiple fusion concepts in recent years, the men find themselves either settling with less authentic dining choices or spending lavishly on the occasional indulgence. Believing that fine dining experiences should not only be for the affluent, Kinsa Sushi was born.

Along with the humble origins of the founders, the birth of Kinsa Sushi is also ensured humility, nestled in the heart of a heartland - Jubilee Square, Ang Mo Kio.

The restaurant aims to deliver to her patrons affordable traditional Japanese fine dining with premium quality food and dining experience.

Let Kinsa Sushi take you to yet another level of dining.

Just but one more day...

Hi Everyone!

How did your Thursday morning go? Perhaps you were sleepy and dragging yourself to work/school in this great rainy weather… but here at Kinsa Sushi, we were pretty excited the whole morning! That’s because our very first batch of fresh supplies from the “Land of the Rising Sun” has arrived.

We spent the entire morning running through the quality of this maiden cargo. The anticipated supplies unfortunately, did not meet our standards in delivering premium dining experience to you, our valued customers. As such, we will be approaching other sources from Japan to enable us in bringing to you the finest cuisine.

So yes, we regret to inform you that Kinsa Sushi will not be opening on 18 May. We seek your understanding in allowing us to rectify this problem in order to bring to you, nothing but our best.

Please stay tuned for further updates and continue to be part of our journey with us.
